Dr Renate Volpe began her corporate career in the world of Mining during the mid 80s,serving as a Divisional Director of the Chamber of Mines from 1986 – 1995. Renate turned entrepreneur in 1995 and founded Dr Renate Volpe Leadership Consulting procuring long term service retainers with companies like Nike, MTN, Standard Bank, Gerling Global,and Teba.
She is a faculty member of a number of business schools presenting modules on "Personal Mastery for Leaders“ and“Playing the Corporate Political Game” to globally representative audiences.
Dr Volpe published the popular read “The Entrepreneurial Mind Shift”. Tribute was paid to her publication on Self Esteem nationwide. She contributed to “Conversations in Leadership” edited by T Meyer and I Boninelli, Her more recent publication, “Lessons from the school for hardknocks” has the foreword written by Noeleen Maholwana Sangqu. The publication is endorsed by Tina Thomson (CEO, BWA 2004 – 2006), Gill Markus, (Gender Chair GIBS) and Theo Garrun (Editor, the Star, Workplace).
Dr Volpe holds a high media profile writing regularly for a host of newspapers, publications and magazines. She is regularly interviewed on radio and invited as a guest on numerous TV interviews. A professional public speaker Dr Volpe speaks at prestigious events such as the annual IPM forum at Sun City, and the African Leadership Summit. Internationally Dr Volpe has represented South Africa in the Global Work Life Forum, held in Paris on behalf of IBM.
She completed her PHD under the guidance of Dr Robert Carkhuff Arlington, Washington DC. Dr Volpe specialises in coaching senior managers and executives. In this forum she integrates her extensive, psychology, leadership and business skills to maximum effect, thereby enhancing resilience and competence in her clientele.
Her client list includes Goldfields, Anglo, Eskom, Nedbank, Hollard, Experion, Astra Zeneca, Foshini, Semarch, Tshikululu, Anglo Gold Ashanti, Citigroup, Standard Bank, Shell, and MTN.
