Tools of Greatness is a company dedicated to providing human capital and organisational development resources to individuals, teams, organisations and communities which will promote their effectiveness.

Training is not the great cure-all which business would like it to be. It is a very efficient model, useful for two key functions; to teach skills and to provide information.

However, human performance is influenced by more than just practical skills and knowledge. Beliefs, attitudes, feelings and thinking skills are often more significant determinants of the effectiveness and efficiency with which people execute their responsibilities than their skills or knowledge. Certainly these are the elements which distinguish outstanding performers.

In his book, “Outliers,” Malcolm Gladwell eloquently illustrates that an average of 10 000 hours is required for anyone to become worldclass. These 10 000 hours are not entirely focused on skill and knowledge development. He illustrates very clearly that they include belief -, confidence- and attitude-shaping experiences, relationship-building encounters and opportunities to develop other forms of intelligence which tend to shape behaviour.

Tools of Greatness products and services are more focused on these qualitative aspects of learning and we are therefore a development organisation rather than a training organisation.
